Hi all! Are you wondering, didn’t she just do a free butterfly SVG post? Why yes, yes I did. I shared 3 fancy and free Cricut butterfly SVG files not long ago. So why am I doing more?
Well, first of all—you can never have too many butterflies. Everyone loves butterflies. But the real reason is that sometimes a project calls for just a simple silhouette file.
The butterfly files I shared before were more intricate files with swirls and cutouts and designs in the butterflies. They are gorgeous, but they could definitely be more complicated to cut on a smaller scale.
You know what I mean. The smaller an intricate file, the harder it can be to cut. And then weed! And some materials like basswood and felt can be a pain to cut more intricate designs on.
These simple butterfly SVG files will do the trick in those instances. They scale well and don’t have any negative space inside the design that you’ll need to weed out. The only mildly tricky part could be the antennas on some of them.

Side butterfly SVG options & flying butterfly SVG options
Another thing I noticed is that a lot of butterfly SVGs don’t have images of the side of the butterfly or images that look like the butterfly is flying. They are all flat images draw from the front.
So this set of simple butterfly SVG files includes two different options of the butterflies from the side. And both of those kind of look like the butterfly is flying, too. Two of the other files are more from the front, but they do kinda look like the butterfly is flying.
